Each year the Saint John Seafarers’ Mission provides gifts to the seafarers who are visiting our port at that time. These seafarers are far from home during a time when other people are enjoying their family and friends. The Christmas ‘Away from Home’ program (a.k.a. ‘Shoebox’ program) has been very successful in the past, but not without the generosity and help of other people and organizations.

If you would like to help this cause, below are some suggestions for the boxes:

Toiletries: Disposable razors, shave cream, shampoo, soap, tooth brush, toothpaste, Qtips, hand cream, comb, anti-perspirant, lip balm, etc.

Candy: Preferable hard candy to reduce the chance of melting

Warm Clothing: Toques, gloves, scarves, socks, etc.

Misc: DVD movies, small note book, pen, pencil, playing cards, etc.

Saint John Souvenirs: Post card, Pin, pen, keychain, small flag, etc.

Other: Financial donations designated for our Christmas program are welcome as well.
(Receipts for tax purposes will be issued.)

Gifts can be picked up by calling the Mission at 635-1731 OR they can be dropped off at the Mission or Anglican House (Princess Street).
